Robotics Foundations is our most popular starting point. In six weeks you go from your first Arduino sketch to two complete robots that sense their surroundings and move on their own — built by you, on real hardware, at our lab near APMC Market, Ahmedabad.
Every session is roughly 80% lab time. A mentor explains one idea, you wire and code it straight away, then test and debug it until it works. By the end you understand how the mechanical, electronic and software parts of a robot fit together.
Who this course is for
- School students from Class 6 upwards who are curious about robots
- Diploma and engineering students (any branch) who want practical robotics experience
- Parents looking for a meaningful STEM activity for their children
- Hobbyists and makers starting out with Arduino
What you will learn
- Basic electronics: voltage, current, resistors, LEDs and breadboarding
- Arduino programming in C/C++: inputs, outputs, loops and functions
- DC motors, the L298N motor driver and PWM speed control
- IR, line-tracking and ultrasonic distance sensors
- Servo motors and simple robot movement logic
- Wireless control of a robot from a phone over Bluetooth
Course plan
Week 1: Electronics and Arduino basics
Breadboards, LEDs, buttons and buzzers. You write your first programs and learn to read a simple circuit diagram.
Week 2: Sensors
Read IR, LDR and ultrasonic sensors, print values to the serial monitor and use them to make decisions in code.
Week 3: Motors and the robot chassis
Assemble the chassis, wire DC motors through a motor driver and control speed and direction with PWM.
Week 4: Line-follower robot
Combine line sensors and motors, then tune your logic until the robot follows a track smoothly.
Week 5: Obstacle-avoiding robot
Mount an ultrasonic sensor on a servo, scan for obstacles and program the robot to find a clear path.
Week 6: Bluetooth control and demo day
Add phone control over Bluetooth, polish your robot and present it to mentors and fellow learners.
Projects you will build
- Traffic-light and smart night-lamp circuits
- Line-follower robot
- Obstacle-avoiding robot with a scanning ultrasonic sensor
- Bluetooth-controlled robot car
Tools and hardware
Arduino Uno, robot chassis with DC motors and wheels, L298N motor driver, IR and line sensors, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, SG90 servo, HC-05 Bluetooth module, battery pack, breadboard, jumper wires and basic tools. Kits are provided for every lab session.
Prerequisites
None. No coding or electronics background is needed — we start from the very basics. Bring curiosity and a notebook; a laptop is helpful but lab systems are available.
After the course
Learners who finish Robotics Foundations usually continue to our Embedded C & Microcontrollers or AI on the Edge courses, or apply for the Robotics Internship to work on a bigger project with our team.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum age for this course?
Students from Class 6 (around 11 years) can join. Younger children are welcome at our school workshops — ask us for details.
Can I take the robot home?
Lab kits stay at the lab so every batch has working hardware. If you would like your own kit to keep practising at home, we can guide you on what to buy.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. You receive a certificate of completion after presenting your final robot on demo day.
Fees, batch timings and seat availability are shared on enquiry. Message us on WhatsApp or use the enquiry form, and our team will help you choose the right batch.
